Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing & Roadmap Execution
    • Global Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy for essential components and materials, ensuring long-term scalability for our humanoid robot.
    • Roadmap Alignment: Create and manage a semiconductor technology roadmap that aligns our product architecture with future industry trends and supplier innovations.
    • AVL Ownership: Own the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and lead the full supplier lifecycle—from identification and qualification to performance evaluation.
  • Humanoid Robotics Ecosystem & Supply Agreements
    • Long-Term Agreements: Negotiate high-stakes, long-term deals and strategic supply agreements that secure the high-priority materials required to build and scale our humanoid platform.
    • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and NPI teams to ensure sourcing activities remain perfectly synchronized with product development and production timelines.
    • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, pricing dynamics, lead-time fluctuations, and technical advancements within the global silicon and electronics markets.
  • Technical Influence & BOM Optimization
    • BOM Scrubs: Lead rigorous BOM scrubs and analysis to identify end-of-life (EOL) risks, single-source vulnerabilities, and technical bottlenecks before design freeze.
    • Design Influence: Partner with Architecture and Engineering to influence design decisions for optimal cost, performance, and supply-chain resilience.
    • Should-Cost Modeling: Own the "Should-Cost" modeling process to drive aggressive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions through negotiation and value engineering.
  • Risk Management & Commercial Leadership
    • Risk Mitigation: Identify vulnerabilities in the EE supply chain (e.g., geopolitical shifts, capacity constraints) and implement robust hedging and business continuity strategies.
    • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs), quality agreements, and Statements of Work (SOWs) that secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
    • Performance Metrics: Implement and maintain robust supplier performance metrics and lead periodic business reviews to ensure strategic objectives are met.
    • Supplier Development: Periodically travel to supplier sites to drive initiatives such as cost reductions, relationship building, and supplier development.

    Requirements

    • Experience: 7+ years in global sourcing or commodity management, specifically with semiconductor or complex EE components.
