Global Supply Chain Manager
About the role
The Global Supply Chain Manager (GSM) is responsible for owning end-to-end sourcing strategy for critical spend areas across the Ultra-Efficient Vehicle (UEV) platform and follow-on advanced electric vehicle (EV) programs. This includes aligning sourcing strategy with technical roadmaps, designing commercial agreements, and leading the supply base to ensure optimal value and resilience.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end sourcing strategy for critical spend areas across the UEV platform and follow-on advanced EV programs from sourcing strategy development through SOP, including supplier selection, contracting, and ongoing cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Partner with engineering from concept through launch to align sourcing strategy with technical roadmaps, design freeze milestones, and prototype-to-production transitions. Structure commercial agreements that protect program timing without ceding cost leverage.
- Build first-principles should-cost models with cross-functional teams to drive a ground-up, physics-based part and system cost perspective. Use these models to set negotiation positions, evaluate quote submissions, and challenge supplier pricing line by line.
- Lead make-vs-buy analysis to ensure we have a best-in-class supply chain that delivers optimal value.
- Develop the supply base for resilience. Identify and qualify Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners across geographies; build dual-source and regional capacity strategies that address raw material scarcity, geopolitical risk, and an evolving global trade and tariff environment.
- Drive automation across the supply chain to deliver best-in-class supply chain efficiency. Partner with suppliers to identify opportunities for process automation and robotics.
- Shape the tools and processes the ADVEV supply chain runs on, including should-cost methodology, supplier and agreement management systems, and AI-enabled analytics that scale how Ford evaluates suppliers, parts, and agreements.
