About the role
The Global Program Manager will oversee the advanced manufacturing and automation projects portfolio for JBPCO, a diversified manufacturing company with $2.75B in annual revenue and 9,000 team members. Reporting to the JBPCO analyst group, this role involves creating and maintaining a database of project roadmaps, developing standard templates, and coordinating project portfolios across all Business Units.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a database of the portfolio roadmaps by Business Unit, actively manage and report on current year projects and activities.
- Work with JBPCO analyst group to create and manage appropriate PowerBI reports and dashboards to satisfy requirements.
- Manage the Capital Expenditure Request system, Vendor Approval, and Certificate of Insurance activities.
- Develop standard templates for project input linked to database.
- Collaborate with Directors of Automation Engineering, Automation Engineers, Engineering Specialists and Business Unit teams to document and continually manage the overall Advanced Manufacturing Engineering project roadmaps and portfolio.
- Develop an audit structure, plan, and cadence to verify savings and sustainment of closed projects.
- Publish Advanced Manufacturing Engineering monthly report and status board files.
- Coordinate / oversee the full project portfolio across all Business Units (BUs) within JBPCO.
- Facilitate project planning sessions with business stakeholders to identify project milestones, and tracks performance against goals and timeline.
- Identify, track, and work with others to resolve project issues.
- Ensure that activities follow organizational policies and relevant external regulations.
- Mentor and train project leaders within JBPCO on methods and tools for effective project management.
- Create and maintain the required level of control with all JBPCO documents.
- Communicate between and across JBPCO and the Business Units to keep all aligned on achieving the business goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- BS in Project Management or equivalent.
- MBA in Project Management preferred.
- Ten years or more of directly related experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
- A self-starter with strong project leadership experience.
- Handles complex issues and problems referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Ability to design, architect, and manage a project database.
- Ability to build PowerBI dashboards and analytics.
- Ability to develop and mentor others.
- Ability to manage multiple large- and small-scale projects at the same time across North America.
- Exemplary management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and build rapport with personnel at all levels in a diversified, multi-site, manufacturing organization.
- Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations.
- Plans, organizes, and guides projects and project team members.
- Proficient with computer systems and software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
