About the role
The Global Materials & Supply Chain Manager will lead overall supply chain, procurement, and planning for the Mezzanine business unit, supporting manufacturing sites in Penang, Malaysia; Mexicali, Mexico; and Valley Green, PA. This role is responsible for supplier performance and delivery execution, component capacity planning, and operational planning for the growing business. The manager will oversee buying and planning functions, global materials support, U.S. tariffs and trade compliance, and on-time delivery execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global materials organization, focusing on supplier capacity and production.
- Drive continuous improvement in business processes related to forecasting and translating production demand to suppliers.
- Support internal component delivery performance between sister sites and ensure visibility within the ERP system.
- Respond to and resolve customer expedites and supply chain challenges.
- Collaborate daily with Operations, New Product Introduction (NPI), Project Management, and Product Management to meet schedules and commitments.
- Lead supplier performance metrics: PPV (Purchase Price Variance), On-Time Delivery, and factory delinquency.
- Coordinate with logistics and trade compliance teams to ensure all supply chain activities comply with governmental, industry regulations, and company policies; maintain proper documentation for audits.
- Track and analyze global tariff impacts on supply chain operations, ensuring changes are identified, communicated, and addressed to minimize costs and risks.
- Provide leadership to a team of direct reports in customer service, buying, planning, and supply chain.
- Ensure optimal material availability based on analysis of customer forecasts, reports, history, and capacity planning tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics.
- 8+ years of experience in Production Planning, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and MRP.
- 3+ years of leadership and supervisory experience.
- Background in manufacturing processes at the component level—connector production (stamping, molding, plating, assembly) is a benefit.
- Strong background in Excel and ERP systems.
- Experience dealing with global suppliers across all regions.
- Capacity planning along with short- and long-term forecasting across BOMs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across technical and business functions.
- Experience with high-speed connectors such as board-to-board, cable-to-board, backplane, or mezzanine systems.
Travel
Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
