Global Marketing Operations Director

About the role
We're seeking an experienced demand-generation-focused marketing operations leader who is equally comfortable developing long-term operational strategy as they are solving day-to-day execution challenges. This highly visible role owns the systems, processes, reporting, analytics, and operational infrastructure that enable our global marketing organization to execute at scale.
You’ll act as both a strategic partner to and an extension of the Demand Generation team, taking ownership of the operational execution behind global demand generation programs. From campaign operations and marketing automation to reporting, analytics, and lead management, you’ll collaborate with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, SDRs, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to drive pipeline growth and optimize marketing’s contribution to revenue.
This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You’ll own our marketing technology ecosystem, vendor relationships, campaign operations, lead management processes, reporting infrastructure, marketing budget operations, and data quality while continuously improving how marketing operates across the company.
Reporting to the VP of Revenue Marketing, you’ll help build the operational foundation that supports MariaDB’s next stage of growth.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale global marketing operations strategy, processes, and infrastructure.
- Design scalable operational workflows that improve speed, efficiency, and execution across the marketing organization.
- Continuously identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual work, and improve operational excellence.
- Develop documentation, governance, and best practices for the global marketing organization.
- Own and administer the marketing technology ecosystem, including Marketo, Salesforce, Clay, Qualified, Monday.com, Zoom Webinar, ON24, Demandbase/6sense, N8N, and AI workflow automation tools.
- Manage platform administration, integrations, vendor relationships, security, user management, system optimization, and new technology evaluations.
- Drive global campaign operations by partnering with Demand Generation, Field Marketing, Product Marketing, and regional teams to operationalize campaigns from planning through execution.
- Establish repeatable operational processes for campaign setup, lead lifecycle management, database segmentation, email operations, webinar operations, landing pages, routing, workflows, campaign QA, UTM governance, attribution, and program measurement.
- Develop the reporting infrastructure that enables leadership to understand marketing performance, including marketing KPI dashboards, pipeline reporting, funnel analytics, campaign performance, marketing-sourced pipeline, marketing-influenced revenue, forecasting, executive dashboards, budget reporting, and ROI analysis.
- Turn complex data into actionable insights that improve decision-making across the organization.
- Optimize the entire lead lifecycle by partnering closely with Sales Operations and Revenue Operations on lead scoring, lead routing, SLA management, attribution models, Salesforce data quality, lifecycle definitions, campaign influence, and sales handoff processes.
- Ensure marketing and sales operate from a single source of truth.
- Manage marketing operational budgets and vendor relationships in collaboration with Marketing Leadership and Finance, including budget tracking, purchase order management, vendor negotiations, contract management, invoice tracking, technology renewals, agency management, and operational forecasting.
- Maintain the health of the marketing database and ensure high-quality reporting through data normalization, compliance, data enrichment, duplicate management, field governance, documentation, process audits, and operational quality assurance.
- Establish marketing data as a trusted business asset.
- Lead and develop the Marketing Operations function by managing external agencies and operational vendors, mentoring future team members, establishing operational standards, driving cross-functional alignment, and championing a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of Marketing Operations, Revenue Operations, or Demand Generation Operations experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.
- Expert knowledge of Marketo (or similar systems) and Salesforce administration.
- Experience administering and integrating modern marketing technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of lead lifecycle management, campaign operations, attribution, and marketing analytics.
- Experience building executive dashboards and reporting for senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of marketing KPIs, pipeline generation, funnel metrics, and revenue attribution.
- Experience managing marketing technology vendors, agencies, and operational budgets.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple global initiatives simultaneously.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience implementing automation, AI workflows, and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Pay
The annual anticipated U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is USD $180,000 - $200,000. Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies.
