Glazier - Foreman
About the role
ModCorr delivers and sets up minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and meet the same building codes as traditional construction. Our safe, secure, and high-quality units comply with American Correctional Association (ACA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The Glazier will install, repair, and replace security glass in detention and commercial hollow metal windows, doors, and occasionally commercial storefronts. This role requires precision and collaboration with other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the Glass and Glazing manager about job conditions and needs.
- Install security glass in detention and commercial hollow metal windows, doors, and other structures according to specifications.
- Repair or replace broken glass in existing installations.
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure airtight and watertight installations.
- Fabricate and build frames for glass installations as needed.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Teach and educate crew on techniques and methods to improve proficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Lead Glazier (required).
- Strong communication skills and ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Ability to teach and lead a crew of less skilled members.
- Proficiency in caulking and sealing applications.
- General maintenance and repair skills.
- Ability to fabricate and build custom solutions as required.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in glass installation and repair.
- Clean driving record (no DUI’s) and valid driver’s license.
- Clean criminal history (no felonies).
- Ability to pass regular drug screenings.
- OSHA 30 preferred; OSHA 10 required.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Physical Demands
This job requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.
Schedule
Monday to Friday (8 hours per day). Overtime and weekends as needed.
