About the role
The candidate must maintain high clinical and ethical standards that will be carried into decision-making processes, adhere to compliance measures, establish and promote an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practice and effective communication between all staff disciplines, and foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care and supervision at VCU Health campus and satellite locations.
- Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills are required.
- Support a 16 resident ophthalmology training program with a full 5-year ACGME Accreditation.
- Appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor based on experience.
Requirements
- Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible/On Pathway toward Board Certification in Ophthalmology and have completed residency training in ophthalmology.
- Must possess/maintain a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
