About the Role

Under the general supervision of the GIS Manager, the GIS Technician I will perform GIS data analytics, manipulation, transformation, development, and mapping utilizing ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other GIS software packages as required.

This role involves collaboration with employees, managers, and supervisors throughout the corporation, as well as external customers, vendors, consultants, and governmental regulatory officials.

Responsibilities

  • Use various geospatial software products to produce visualizations, reports, and analysis of field survey data.
  • Research public records and websites for data collection and acquisition.
  • Develop and maintain the company’s data library.
  • Perform associated mapping and records work as assigned.
  • Work with enterprise databases and transform data to meet client needs.
  • Prepare data deliverables and ensure quality conforms to standards.
  • Prepare specialty maps for internal and external clients.
  • Work with project managers and leads to determine best methods and practices to meet client demands.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of ESRI’s suite of products including ArcGIS, ArcPRO, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Ability to take the lead on tasks needed to meet client needs and demands.
  • Work with significant direct supervision to produce deliverables.
  • Good attention to detail to enter and/or maintain data in a GIS database.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, harmonious working relationships with existing staff.
  • Ability to review work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements.
  • Ability to learn and/or apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying-related problems.

Schedule

Standard business hours are Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM–7:00 PM. The specific schedule for this role will be based on location and department.

Travel to worksites may be required.

Must be authorized to work in the United States. This employer participates in E-Verify.

This position is subject to initial and random drug and alcohol programs as directed by company policy.
