GIS Intern
About the role
Michael Baker International is seeking to hire Part-Time Summer 2026 Interns to work in the field in Kansas. This opportunity is open to all applicants seeking an Internship within the Geospatial discipline.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of seasoned GIS and Project Managers to assist on Indoor Mapping field collection projects.
- Perform technical duties and daily activities as part of the team.
- Travel to various locations within the state of Kansas for data collection.
Requirements
- Currently residing in the state of Kansas.
- Valid US Driver's License.
Qualifications
- Working toward an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Science, or related field of study.
- Focus in GIS, Geography, or Environmental Practice preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software.
- Software proficiency – Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation.
Benefits
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
Pay
The approximate compensation range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour.
Schedule
Work will be conducted Friday-Sunday at approximately 20-40 hours per week.
