Join our Athens, PA office as a GIS Analyst and provide technical and analytical support across CEC’s diverse consulting practices. You’ll collaborate with project managers, scientists, and field personnel to develop GIS datasets, exhibits, and web maps while managing data for environmental, ecological, and solid waste projects.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and integrate GPS data collected by field staff and unmanned aerial vehicle units.
- Conduct spatial analysis using aerial imagery, elevation models, and landcover data.
- Create data collection forms and compute environmental impacts.
- Design and update GIS databases.
- Assist application development teams for ESRI-based workflows and web applications.
- Support CEC staff in GPS operation and environmental data collection in the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Previous internship experience or 1+ years of professional GIS experience.
- Full knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (10.x) products, including Basic, Standard, and Advanced.
- Experience with geodatabase creation and data management in ArcCatalog.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing tasks and troubleshooting issues.
- Experience managing and post-processing GPS data.
- Field data collection experience using Trimble GPS units.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting (Python, Shell, VB, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Server, ESRI’s SDE, SQL Server, or other relational databases.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
