GI Technician (Full-Time, Rotating Shift)
About the role
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates and practices competencies related to endoscopic procedures, which include proper disinfection, care and handling of endoscopes.
- Affords assistance to gastroenterologists with various GI procedures and related work, as required.
- Maintains quality control of each sterilization and terminal cleaning process, which includes biological monitoring.
- Cleans, tests, processes and stores endoscopes and other clinical equipment, according to established policies and procedures.
- Transports patients between departments.
- Collects data for performance improvement.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Experience in Gastroenterology (GI) Lab/Operating Room: Preferred
Qualifications
- Licenses/Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $28.69. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
