About the role
The role of Procurement Manager contributes directly to the company's mission of developing and deploying renewable power plants to make universal access to renewable energy possible worldwide. As a Procurement Manager, you will work closely with the local sales team and represent the project management team throughout the procurement process and contractual negotiation phases.
Responsibilities
- Led the contractual negotiations related to project management topics, both virtually and in person with clients.
- Provided internal project review teams with risk identification, analysis, and evaluation (sales validation process), ensuring risk mitigation measures are implemented during client contract negotiations.
- Provided cost calculations to support project execution schedules and related tasks such as wind turbine installation, crane works.
- Delivered detailed project updates to execution teams.
- Supported clients and BOP entrepreneurs with project management inquiries during the sales phase.
- Represented Nordex to clients – establishing a good relationship and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Other reasonable duties, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in sales engineering, project management, business administration, or relevant experience.
- More than 5 years of professional experience in comparable roles, including full responsibility for contracts worth several million dollars and solid commercial and financial knowledge.
- Negotiation experience necessary (preferably in similar sectors).
- Experience in project management or heavy construction work experience is advantageous (preferably in the wind energy sector and/or in turnkey construction projects).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proactive, able to think critically and independently.
- Motivated to find creative solutions to complex problems.
- Outstanding communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional attitude and courteous behavior.
- Strong software skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to the US, Canada, and Germany.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to obtain a valid passport.
- Must be able to meet Canadian employment verification requirements.
- The ability to maintain driving eligibility to our auto insurance.
- Periodic background checks on driving records to confirm driving eligibility.
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Use appropriate safety equipment, including protective eyewear, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and hard hats.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to ensure a safe working environment.
- Speak and understand English fluently to communicate effectively about safety and work-related information, follow safety guidelines, and collaborate with Anglophone supervisors and team members.

Schedule
The schedule for this position includes occasional travel to the US, Canada, and Germany, up to 25% of the time.
Pay
The salary for this position is not subject to overtime and ranges between $155 and $190 CAD, with a bonus that can reach up to 15%. Individual compensation is determined based on various factors specific to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications, and other factors related to the position.
