About the role
We are seeking a German Tax Consultant (Steuerberater) to join our dynamic firm. With over 45 years of experience serving foreign-owned businesses in the U.S., we specialize in accounting, auditing, tax, and business consulting services tailored to the unique needs of these companies.
Responsibilities
- Work on challenging projects and advise clients independently in the design and implementation of international transactions.
- Closely collaborate with German clients doing business in the USA on various interesting projects.
- Independently prepare tax returns, technical memos, and opinions.
- Think across boundaries and assist with auditing and other attestation engagements.

- Possibility to pass the US CPA Exam with support provided.
Requirements
- Successfully completed a degree in business management, economics, or a related field.
- Finalized the tax consultant exam.
- At least 3 years of practical work experience in tax.
- Exceptional English speaking and writing skills.
- Like taking the initiative and being self-motivated to succeed.
- Enthusiastic about a teamwork environment with a high degree of responsibility.
- Interested in working with international middle market and entrepreneurial companies.
Qualifications
- Very good understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in international tax compliance and advisory.
- Knowledge of U.S. tax systems and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The base pay range for positions in Chicago, Manhattan, and Denver metropolitan areas is $90,000-$150,000 per year, with exact compensation varying based on skills, experience, and location.
Schedule
Our office hours are standard business hours, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work required for project deadlines.
