About the role

As our Geriatrician, you will help older adults and patients with dementia or palliative care needs receive specialized, comprehensive medical care and compassionate support to improve their health outcomes, maintain dignity, and enhance their quality of life.

This clinic-based position focuses on geriatrics, dementia screening, and palliative care, with the possibility of home visits. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and Advanced Practice Providers, engage in patient education and shared decision-making, and contribute to innovative programs like the Dementia Screening Clinic and the GUIDE model.

Daily patient volume is anticipated at 6-10 patients per day, with 4 hours of administrative time per week. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday.

Current programming includes:

  • Multi-disciplinary Dementia Screening Clinic
  • Alzheimer's & Dementia Care Program (UCLA dissemination site)
  • Outpatient and Inpatient Palliative Care
  • GUIDE model participant

There is opportunity to enhance and expand services in the Cunningham Center for Compassionate Aging.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a clinic setting, specializing in geriatrics, dementia screening, and palliative care
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and Advanced Practice Providers to enhance efficiency and care coordination
  • Actively engage in patient education and shared decision-making to empower older adults and improve health outcomes
  • Serve as a Geriatrics Consultant, including screening and diagnosing dementia

Requirements

  • Board eligible or board certified in Geriatric Medicine (IM or FP), Neurology, or Hospice & Palliative Medicine (IM or FP)
  • Experience or interest in working with the Dementia/Alzheimer's Disease population
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Valid DEA certificate
  • Strong clinical skills and experience working with older adults
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment
  • Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect for the unique needs of older adults and their care partners

Pay

$250,016 - $280,010 per year

Yavapai Regional Medical Center, affiliated with Dignity Health in Arizona since 2020, operates two state-of-the-art acute-care hospitals in Prescott and Prescott Valley. The medical center provides comprehensive medical and surgical treatments, including cardiac, digestive health, emergency, geriatrics, lymphedema, maternity, neuro, obstetrics, orthopedic, vein, wound care, and urologic treatments.
