About the Role
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Geriatric Outpatient Psychiatry Program, providing direct patient care, diagnostic evaluations, follow-up treatment, and teaching/supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care in the geriatric outpatient clinic
- Diagnostic evaluations and follow-up care
- Teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in telepsychiatry services
- Coverage for Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Unit and consults
- Opportunities for research involving dementia, depression, and aging-related studies at the Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease (CEAD)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry
- Eligibility for New York State licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in Geriatric Psychiatry
- Track record of research
- Teaching experience in Psychiatry
- Experience in Telepsychiatry
Schedule
Hybrid schedule with flexible hours. Telemedicine policy may be subject to change by Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Hospital.
