Geotechnical Field Technician

About the role

GTA is currently seeking candidates for a Geotechnical Field (Materials Testing) Technician position at our Wilkes‑Barre, Pennsylvania office (3383 Bear Creek Blvd, Wilkes‑Barre, PA 18702).

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and testing of soil, concrete, and other materials.
• Participate in training, certification programs, and career‑advancement opportunities provided by GTA.

Requirements

• Own a reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Enjoy working outdoors.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ACI, NICET, WACEL or other relevant certifications are desired.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions (e.g., lifting, hammering).
• Manual dexterity: handle, finger, feel; reach, climb, balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, sit; see and smell (close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus).
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 lb; occasionally move 80 lb or more (e.g., loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
