About the Role
Provide geotechnical engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients across sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial. Responsibilities include performing and leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and report writing and review.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes.
- Research and resolve design and construction problems.
- Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
- Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects; participate in pre-task planning and report safety issues to management.
- Support consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
- Assist in research, data collection, field observation, inspection, and field and laboratory testing; prepare associated reports or sections of larger reports.
- Evaluate mostly routine laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
- Consult with other technical people and supervisors on routine and less complex projects.
- Perform basic calculations and engineering analysis.
- Draft routine proposals and assist in the preparation of more complex proposals.
- Perform plan drafting using CAD software.
- Work with engineering technician crews in testing, observations, and data gathering activities on project sites; prepare daily reports documenting activities and findings.
- Work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering Intern (Engineer in Training) certification or ability to obtain it.
