About the role
The Boston office of Jacobs seeks Co-op(s) to work in our Geotechnical Group starting in January 2027. Employee will perform tasks under supervision of Geotechnical Group staff. Well-defined company standards and procedures will be utilized. Work is checked in progress and upon completion. Occasional tasks of a routine and repetitive nature may be required depending on the project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supporting Geotechnical Group staff on critical projects
- Providing assistance with project coordination
- Using relevant computer-assisted engineering software
- Taking field notes during inspections of exploratory and construction-related activity
- Performing subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs
- Drafting construction plans
- Assisting with construction phase services such as as-built drawings and RFI reviews
- Reviewing meeting minutes
- Performing calculations
- Assisting with miscellaneous tasks such as organizing reports and packaging submissions
- Engaging in a mix of office-based and field-based assignments
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering major at an accredited university and be at least a rising Junior
- Completed at least one course in geotechnical engineering or demonstrated strong interest in the field
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
