About the role
RSI is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer who will plan, develop, coordinate, review, and assess the design of projects. Responsibilities include organizing the design team, selecting equipment standards, system design, and preparing plans and specifications. This role interfaces with outsourced engineering companies and provides day-to-day support to Site Leads for their assigned sites.
Responsibilities
- Performs remedial investigations and feasibility studies to determine and outline projects.
- Prepares drawings, construction specifications, statements of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Inspects plans and provides engineer field support during the construction phase of activities.
- Assists in assessments of work scope, potential safety problems, and special design considerations.
- Provides technical assessments, conducts trade-off studies, and offers direction based on costs, schedule, and performance.
- Participates in internal reviews.
- Trains and mentors junior staff and may lead aspects of a task or project.
- Follows procedures and processes while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Professional Engineering License.
Skills
- Understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques with knowledge of environmental regulations and local utility codes.
- Advanced working knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering; additional knowledge in earthwork, hydraulic, hydrology, and land development design is preferred.
- Ability to perform complex professional tasks and analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems.
- Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved processes.
- Ability to work with broad objectives and determine the best way to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to assist in business development or proposal efforts and lead certain aspects of a task or project.
- Strong language, mathematical, communication, reasoning, and computer skills.

Pay
Hiring range: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year. The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be determined by the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.
Schedule
- Full-time, exempt position.
- Required to travel 30% of the time.
