Geotechnical Engineer

Position Overview

Cochran is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at one of our Missouri offices. We are a civil engineering firm serving both public and private sectors with a focus on municipal, commercial, residential, transportation, water/wastewater, site development, retail, planning, and interior design projects.

Responsibilities

• Development of geotechnical subsurface exploration proposals and reports
• Review and application of laboratory testing and analyses
• Design and analysis of retaining walls, reinforced slopes, soil parameters for adequate foundation support
• Development of construction recommendations and best practices
• Conduct periodic construction site visits
• Review of daily observation reports from materials testing field personnel

Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years of experience as an EIT, with a preference for a licensed PE
• Experience with construction testing and working with onsite construction personnel to resolve soils- and materials-related concerns on active construction projects
• BS in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering
