Geotechnical Engineer (EI or PE)

Responsibilities

• Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, and risk evaluation on developments.
• Aid in the training of lab technicians and reviewing lab reports, managing equipment inventory and calibration.
• Work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Service Line Manager.
• Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and interact with clients on technical aspects of projects.
• Review soils laboratory test results and assist in planning and executing subsurface investigation programs.
• Design and analyze earth embankments, earth retaining structures, and anchoring systems.
• Analyze and design shallow and deep foundations and perform slope stability evaluations.
• Maintain quality control standards and specifications.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
• E.I. credentialing is required; already having PE licensure is a strong plus.
• A BS degree in Civil Engineering or a Masters/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and be physically capable of maneuvering on open terrain.
