Geotechnical Engineer (EIT)

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of geotechnical and ground investigation projects. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, receiving full training and mentoring whilst developing both your technical and practical skills.

Responsibilities

• Aid in planning and conducting ground investigations at various sites.
• Supervise and document boreholes, trial pits, and intrusive ground investigations.
• Carry out soil and rock logging according to industry standards.
• Accurately record site data and maintain high-quality field notes.
• Support the analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data and laboratory test results.
• Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Travel to sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays where required.

Requirements

• Completed degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Full UK driving license (or be working towards obtaining one).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• The flexibility to travel and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
