Geotechnical Engineer
About the role
As a Geotechnical Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC), in the Geotechnical group at one of our greater Boston offices, you'll be responsible for geotechnical subsurface investigations related to real estate development, manufacturing, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, natural gas and public infrastructure projects, as well as construction materials and geotechnical testing services for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor subsurface drilling
- Obtain soil and rock samples
- Prepare boring logs
- Develop laboratory testing programs
- Interpret laboratory data
- Perform geotechnical analyses
- Prepare geotechnical reports
- Conduct construction materials testing
- Participate in earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, and pavement construction testing
- Deliver geotechnical solutions that shape communities and support critical development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or related field
- Previous internship experience required or 1+ year consulting experience
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong quantitative/math and analytical skills
- Ability and willingness to participate in field work
- Ability to travel for out of town assignments (50%)

Pay
The pay range for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000. The hiring range posted is a good faith estimate of what Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. may reasonably offer for the role as outlined. Factors such as additional education and/or experience may influence the actual offering.
Schedule
Candidates will have an option to sit in either our Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA office locations.
