Responsibilities
- Geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations, earthworks, slopes, seepages, and lateral earth pressures.
- Geotechnical earthquake engineering analyses, including ground motion, site response, deformation, SSI, liquefaction, and lateral spreading.
- Planning, installation, monitoring, and interpretation of subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation.
- Project, resource, and staff management, including report preparation and proposal support.
- Construction observation of foundations, drilled shafts, pile driving, and other earthworks.
- Collaboration on building and infrastructure design, client relationship development, and professional community participation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based working.
- Extensive geotechnical background with fundamental knowledge of geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrogeology.
- Experience with software including slope stability, pile modeling, and site response tools.
- Familiarity with DSA/CGS and Caltrans standards, guidelines, and deliverables.
- Experience in construction oversight for foundation construction and earthwork observation.

Pay
Compensation: $114,400 - $128,960 annually. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed-upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
