Geotechnical EIT
About the role
We are seeking a Geotechnical EIT to join our team. This role involves conducting analyses, preparing cost estimates and specifications, performing routine engineering tasks, and assisting with project development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations
- Aid in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Conduct slope stability, settlement, and seepage analysis
- Carry out geotechnical engineering studies on routine and moderately sized projects
- Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with EIT certificate
- Experience with MS Office, GIS, and CADD, as appropriate
- Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology, license as geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist with civil engineering license, experience with Caltrans or other state Department of Transportation on bridge and roadway projects, experience with FEMA on storm damage repair projects, experience with dam and levee investigations, ability to work outdoors and in remote locations during field studies, willingness to travel, and experience with seismic analysis including ground shaking, liquefaction, and lateral spreading
Qualifications
- Masters in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (preferred)
- Licensed as geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist with civil engineering license (preferred)
- Experience working with Caltrans or other state Department of Transportation on bridge and roadway projects (preferred)
- Experience working with FEMA on storm damage repair projects (preferred)
- Experience with dam and levee investigations (preferred)
- Ability to work outdoors and in remote locations during field studies (preferred)

Skills
Our ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Office, GIS, and CADD is also essential.

The expected compensation range for this position is $70,304.00 - $91,410.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
