Geotechnical/Construction Materials Technician

About the role

We are seeking geotechnical/construction materials testing field and laboratory technicians to join our team in Tampa, Florida. We are a Florida-based consulting company specializing in geotechnical engineering and environmental services. As a technician, you will perform testing, sampling, and site assessments for construction materials such as soils, concrete, and others under direct supervision or from detailed procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and sampling of soils, concrete, pavement, and other construction materials at active construction sites and/or in the laboratory.
• Review construction plans to determine required testing and track testing performed.
• Communicate with clients and project teams on construction progress and testing results.
• Prepare daily field reports of construction activities and testing results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Experience performing construction materials testing/inspections is preferred but not required; experienced professionals are highly encouraged to apply.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal and written form.
• Must be able to read and understand work plans.
• Must be able to work off shifts and overtime.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required).
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds.
