Geosynthetic Liner Supervisor

About the role

Tetra Tech is seeking a Geosynthetic Liner Supervisor to join our Geosynthetics team based in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with general liner installation techniques and respective equipment.
• Prepare professional business documents such as timesheets, dailies, expense reports.
• Read & interpret engineers plans and specifications.
• Effectively communicate with direct reports, peers, and clients.
• Aid in the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for projects.
• Perform construction activities in a safe and proper manner.
• Perform maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance.
• Oversee and maintain clean, and organized equipment and supplies.
• Provide an aggressive and proactive approach to client needs.
• Complete project related paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately.
• Understand environmental and health & safety regulations and perform work in a competent manner.
• Familiar with survey equipment, geosynthetic liner, forklift and off-road trucks, and material handling equipment.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of construction working experience and at least two years supervising.
• Minimum 1-year heavy equipment operation or forklift operation.
• Proficient in the use of the PC, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Liner experience with current OSHA or MSHA certification.
• Familiarity with landfill work and various other project sites, including use of surveying equipment and blueprints preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
• Walk long distances, up and down steep slopes, and varied outdoor terrain.
• Climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.

Additional Information

• Travel for extended periods, as necessary.
• Anticipated that a working construction supervisor will travel 100% of the time 7-9 months out of the year, with various breaks throughout the winter months.
• Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• A background investigation if required.
• This offer of employment is contingent upon successful evaluation of a motor vehicle (MVR) check, if required.
