About the role
Lynker Technologies, LLC seeks a Geospatial Analyst II to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management (OCM).
Responsibilities
- Quality assurance of land cover datasets
- Assisting with direct land cover data classification and development from lidar, aerial, and satellite imagery
- Compiling and processing ancillary data in support of land cover quality assurance or data development
- Runnning automated tasks for creating land cover-related datasets
- Assisting with publishing and managing map services
- Writing metadata records
- Assisting with the development of derivative products (ex., Storymaps, web apps)
- Assisting with the update and quality assurance of the new land cover change visualization and analysis
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in geography, remote sensing, GIS, or related field OR a Bachelor's degree with six plus years of related experience
- Experience or general knowledge of land cover mapping methods, elevation data, and orthoimagery
- Experience or general knowledge with both raster and vector-based datasets on desktop and web-based platforms
- Experience or general knowledge in the development and analysis of land cover and/or change data
- Knowledge of Python scripting language is required for automation of GIS tasks
- Knowledge or experience related to land cover classification using artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of coastal management and coastal processes
- Knowledge of coastal hazards and inundation mapping
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in geography, remote sensing, GIS, or related field
- Bachelor's degree with six plus years of related experience
Skills
- Python scripting language
- Processing and managing data and map services in the cloud
- Knowledge or experience related to land cover classification using artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of coastal management and coastal processes
- Knowledge of coastal hazards and inundation mapping

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
