About This Role
This Georgia Pre-k Assistant Childcare Teacher opportunity at Chroma Early Learning Academy serves Preschool (3–5) and requires an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Based in Alpharetta, GA, candidates bring experience in early childhood education and development.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for our young students.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote social, emotional, and creative growth.
- Supervise and support the daily activities of the classroom, including feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning and sanitizing.
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers to manage daily classroom activities and provide exceptional care and education to our students.
- Audit each child's developmental needs and implement individualized plans to support their growth.
- Maintain a well-organized and attractive classroom environment that encourages creativity and exploration.
- Provide positive guidance and support to students, while also setting clear expectations for their behavior.
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and other school functions to stay informed and up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
- Adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Chroma Early Learning Academy Employee Handbook, including maintaining a professional appearance.
- Maintain knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children, and incorporate this understanding into lesson plans and daily activities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
- Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Chroma Early Learning Academy Employee Handbook
- Attends all staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior
- Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence
- Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Chroma Early Learning Academy curriculum and programming
- Audit each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
- Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
- Observes all rules and regulations at Chroma Early Learning Academy and the local, state, and national agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Supervision and daily class functions of a group of children
