Responsibilities

  • Support environmental site assessment, investigation, remediation, compliance, and permitting projects.
  • Perform soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapor, and other environmental sample collection and shipping in accordance with project plans and standard procedures.
  • Support drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and well development activities.
  • Log soil and/or rock samples, document subsurface conditions, and prepare field notes, boring logs, well construction logs, and sample records.
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain field equipment such as water quality meters, photoionization detectors, water level meters, GPS units, and sampling equipment.
  • Prepare field documentation, technical memoranda, tables, figures, reports, permit documents, and regulatory submittals.
  • Research environmental regulations, guidance, databases, and public records.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, drillers, laboratories, agencies, facility operators, and internal project teams.
  • Support health and safety planning, tailgate safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and implementation of site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Assist with proposals, project research, cost estimates, meeting preparation, and business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or other related Earth/Soil science.
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to use AI tools responsibly for research, drafting, and data organization.
  • Ability to research agency databases, public records, and municipal portals.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain.
  • Experience with solid waste or landfill development is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite required; familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, and/or Adobe Acrobat preferred.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays.
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
