About the role
AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Geologist for our Denver, Colorado office. This position supports Project Managers in planning, overseeing fieldwork, and evaluating hydrogeologic and reporting phases for a variety of multidisciplinary environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
- Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate with Project Managers.
- Data management, evaluation, and report writing, including drafting environmental investigation and closure reports.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Comfortable with travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays.
- Work on a multitude of diverse projects, maintain a positive attitude, mentor junior staff, and prioritize workplace health and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in geology or related geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, geochemistry).
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
- Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes.
- Experience with local regulatory agencies.
- Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site models, and well installation reports.
- Task management or project management experience.
- Proposal writing experience.
