Geologist

About the role

AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Geologist for our Denver, Colorado office. This position supports Project Managers in planning, overseeing fieldwork, and evaluating hydrogeologic and reporting phases for a variety of multidisciplinary environmental projects. Projects include large Federal clients, refineries, and numerous commercial clients. The role prefers being based in Denver, CO, but will consider candidates from other offices in the West region.

Responsibilities

• Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
• Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate with Project Managers.
• Data management, evaluation, and report writing, including drafting environmental investigation and closure reports.
• Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Comfortable with travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays, with expected travel time greater than 50% of the time.
• Flexible to work on a multitude of diverse projects, maintain a positive attitude, mentor junior staff, and commit to workplace health and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in geology or relevant geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry).
• Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate preferred.
• Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
• Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes preferred.
• Experience with local regulatory agencies preferred.
• Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site models, and well installation reports.
• Task management or project management experience preferred.
• Proposal writing experience is a plus.

USD 70000 - USD 110000 - yearly
