Geologist
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical exploration including field mapping, drilling, and trenching for various geotechnical studies.
- Perform field observation and testing on grading and construction projects, including field density testing and concrete sampling and testing.
- Assist in geotechnical report preparation including exploration logs, map and cross section preparation, geotechnical analyses, and report writing.
- Perform miscellaneous field, office and laboratory duties in support of geotechnical studies and construction materials testing projects.
Qualifications
- Education/Qualifications: BS Geology / Geological Sciences (MS preferred)
- 1-2 years professional experience in the field and have CA Geologist-In-Training Certificate
- Ideal candidates will have experience with public works and transportation projects.
Requirements
- Nuclear Gauge certification preferred, not required
- ACI Concrete Technician preferred, not required
Pay
The pay range for this California position is $35.00- $41.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
