GenTax Programmer

Location: Off-Site | Contract | Hourly Pay Range $55-$65

About the Role

Join a team seeking an experienced FAST GenTax Programmer to configure and enhance the STARS application. In this role, you’ll support the full software development lifecycle—analyzing requirements, delivering system enhancements, and resolving production issues—while adhering to FAST GenTax functional and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Configure, enhance, and support the STARS application
• Analyze requirements and translate them into system designs, technical solutions, and implementation plans
• Develop, test, and document system enhancements and production fixes using GenTax programming standards
• Implement SQR change requests within the FAST GenTax system
• Track, manage, and promote changes through the FAST Central Repository (FCR)
• Participate in structured code reviews and technical walkthroughs to ensure quality and standards alignment
• Coordinate development activities with other software developers across the SDLC
• Work independently with minimal supervision to deliver enhancements and resolve issues efficiently
• Support improvements to the efficiency and accuracy of tax-processing operations

Requirements

• Five or more years of programming experience
• At least two years of experience with one or more FAST Enterprises technology systems, including GenTax, FAST DS-VS, FAST UI-PL, or FAST CSEH
• Hands-on experience with C#, PostgreSQL, and Visual Studio
• Experience delivering application enhancements and resolving production issues
• Strong analytical, testing, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Must not have worked directly for FAST Enterprises within the past six months
