FAST GenTax Application Programmer
About the role
Our client is seeking a skilled FAST GenTax Application Programmer to support the configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of the FAST GenTax (STARS) application. This role involves analyzing business requirements, developing and testing software enhancements, resolving production issues, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality solutions that improve tax processing systems' efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Configure and enhance the FAST GenTax (STARS) application to meet business and technical requirements.
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and document software enhancements and production fixes.
- Develop solutions using C#, PostgreSQL, and Visual Studio.
- Implement SQR change requests within the FAST GenTax environment following established project standards.
- Track development changes within the Fast Central Repository (FCR).
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while adhering to programming standards.
- Participate in structured code reviews, walkthroughs, and quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate with software developers and technical team members to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain technical documentation for enhancements, fixes, and development activities.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned development tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with FAST Enterprise, LLC technologies, including FAST GenTax, FAST DS-VS, FAST UI-PL, or FAST CSE.
- Strong programming experience with C#.
- Experience developing with PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience with software analysis, design, coding, testing, and technical documentation.
- Experience participating in code reviews and following development standards.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote development team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting tax administration or government revenue systems.
- Experience implementing and maintaining SQR change requests.
- Familiarity with Fast Central Repository (FCR).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pay
Hourly Pay Range: $50-$65
