Genomics Core Manager

About the role

The Laboratory Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Genomics Core. This involves maintaining advanced scientific instrumentation, assisting researchers with experimental design and methods, and providing customer service to users.

Responsibilities

• Conduct genomic sequencing workflows, including sample preparation, data processing, and data interpretation.
• Maintain and operate advanced scientific instrumentation.
• Assist and advise scientists on experimental design and methods.
• Provide customer service to users of the Genomics Core.
• Ensure accurate web-based scheduling and billing of services through the iLab platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of genomic workflow automation.
• Ability to learn new techniques, protocols, and software effectively.
• Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Ph.D. degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with molecular techniques, including the processing of genomic NGS assays.
• Experience with single cell sequencing protocols and analysis.
• Experience using qPCR, Qubit, Agilent Bioanalyzer, Illumina NGS, and PacBio platform or similar.
• Experience with analysis of sequencing data.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
