About the Role

The Department of Radiation Oncology seeks to recruit a full-time faculty member (MD or MD/PhD) as a clinical and academic radiation oncologist specializing in genitourinary and gynecologic cancers. Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series. The successful candidate will have expertise in the management of genitourinary and gynecologic malignancies, including external beam radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and brachytherapy. Experience in brachytherapy for multiple disease sites, with a particular focus on prostate cancer, is highly desirable.

The faculty member will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, pathologists, urologists, medical oncologists, gynecological oncologists, and surgeons to develop and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans utilizing advanced imaging, simulation, and treatment technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient-centered care.
• Contribute to the growth and advancement of UCSF's clinical and research programs in genitourinary cancers.
• Participate in and develop clinical research and clinical trials.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
• Contribute to departmental educational programs and continuing medical education initiatives.
• Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities.

Requirements

• Hold an MD or MD/PhD degree.
• Be board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
• Be eligible for medical licensure and X-ray Supervisor and Operator certification in the State of California.
• Have completed an ACGME-accredited Radiation Oncology residency program or be expected to complete training by July 1, 2026.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will demonstrate:

• A strong commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and academic scholarship.
• Interest and experience in clinical trial development and participation.
• Expertise in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and other related cancers.
• Expertise in the treatment of gynecologic malignancies, including cervix, uterus, vagina, vulva, and other related cancers.
• Experience with brachytherapy and image-guided radiation therapy techniques.
