Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the efficient and effective operation of the department within the Company's fiscal and operational guidelines.
- Adequately adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security systems and procedures to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Oversee the physical/aesthetic maintenance of the restaurant and uphold Genghis Grill's theme and format.
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipe and presented in an acceptable format as outlined in the Food Manual.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all recipes, products, and production procedures.
- Promote and enforce established standards of food safety and sanitation.
- Select, purchase, and store food products within established guidelines.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and handling of food products to ensure quality and freshness.
- Train and assist in the development of staff under his or her supervision, as well as report performance issues to the general manager or assistant manager.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent. One or more years of professional experience in the restaurant industry preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, safety and security systems and procedures, computer operations.
- Good people management, communication, and listening skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- Internal motivation and attention to detail.
- A passion for teaching others.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
