Job Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison for clients.
- Evaluate the risk for genetic or medical conditions and diseases based on medical histories.
- Coordinate genetic laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies as needed.
- Integrate genetic test results with medical histories to explain clinical implications.
- Evaluate a client's response to genetic conditions and provide guidance.
- Identify and utilize community resources for medical, educational, financial, and psychosocial support.
- Provide medical, genetic, and counseling information to clients.
Core Skills
- Provide basic genetic counseling services.
- Aid in the implementation of genetics services by faculty and other health care professionals.
- Demonstrate familiarity with current literature and critically evaluate information.
- Supervise students at the University level, residents, and fellows.
- Attend divisional or organizational meetings such as journal clubs, case conferences, or others.
- Perform basic genetic counseling and provide community outreach.

Qualifications
- Masters degree in related field.
- May require clinical license, certification, or training.
Education
- Provide supervision under the direction of a supervisor mentor for students at the University level, residents, and fellows.
Service
- Assemble and provide educational materials to individuals or organizations in the community.
- Attend divisional meetings and provide educational outreach at community events.
