Generator Technician
About the role
Cat5 Resources is a certified Woman-Owned Business providing technical and operational services to critical infrastructure across the Southern US, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Since 2013, we've supported telecommunications, utilities, and essential industries with services including Disaster Recovery, Operations and Maintenance, Electrical, Civil and Construction, and Transportation and Logistics. In 2016, we expanded into Puerto Rico with Cat5 Caribbean, and in 2024, we launched Cat5 Power Solutions to deliver portable power sales and rentals across the region. Responsibilities
- Able to perform generator repairs of commercial generators as well as preventative maintenance
- Able to perform generator troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Maintains knowledge of updated changes in various models of equipment
- Evaluates and recommends any required repairs
- Able to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have 2 year(s) previous experience
- Must be at least 25 years old
- Must have G.E.D. High School Diploma
- Possess basic electrical knowledge
- Possess mechanical background. Generator mechanics a plus!
Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (ksa’s)
- Possess a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
- Conform to company policies and procedures and meet company goals and objectives as well as protect the company assets and interests
- Have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
- Be dependable and able to work independently
- Be able to lift 50 pounds and able to bend and twist several times a day
- Be able to work flexible hours, days, travel and stay overnight
- Possess troubleshooting skills and have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
- DOT Medical Card required

The Pay Range For This Role Is 25.00 - 40.00 USD per hour (Levels 1-4)
