About the role
This position is based out of our Clinton, MD office.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel generators.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including engines, transfer switches, and controls.
- Conduct load bank testing, fuel system checks, oil changes, and coolant flushes.
- Maintain accurate service records and comply with safety protocols and industry standards.
- Interpret and apply technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide clear updates and recommendations to internal teams and customers.
- Travel to job sites as needed and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.
- EGSA Certified Technician (strongly preferred).
- Proven experience in diesel engine maintenance and generator servicing.
- Manufacturer-specific training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be eligible for and willing to join IBEW Local 26 as a condition of employment.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces).
- May involve working in remote or outdoor locations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.
Skills
- EGSA Certification (preferred).
- Proven experience in diesel engine maintenance and generator servicing.
- Manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, Generac).
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
- Works independently in varied field conditions.
- Maintains accurate records and follows safety protocols.
- Communicates clearly with internal teams and customers.
- Adaptable and reliable under pressure.
