As a Generator Service Technician, you will diagnose, maintain, repair, and service residential and commercial standby generator systems. Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and service on a variety of generator systems and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot generator performance issues and identify root causes through systematic inspection and testing procedures.
- Determine and implement appropriate corrective actions based on failure analysis and equipment evaluation.
- Inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test generator engines and components to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct equipment start-up, commissioning, inspections, repairs, and load bank testing as required.
- Complete warranty documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Order and manage parts and materials necessary to complete repairs and service activities.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair recommendations to customers and management.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of generator service, mechanical, electrical, or related field experience.
- Current Generac Air-Cooled Certification preferred.
- Generac Liquid-Cooled Certification preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain certification through company-sponsored training if not currently certified.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency service calls as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay
The base pay for this role is $35.02/hour. This role is also eligible to participate in a union annual short-term incentive program.
