Generator Field Service Technician

About the role

Clifford Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for a Generator Field Service Technician position in the OKC area. No prior power‑generation experience is required; the company provides training to turn someone with a good mechanical aptitude into a Generator Technician. Candidates should understand combustion engines (diesel, natural gas, or propane), basic electricity, AC power systems (120/240 V single‑phase or 277/480 V three‑phase), DC controls (12 V–24 V), and be comfortable using a laptop to interface with controls software.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service above and beyond the customer’s expectations
• Troubleshoot and diagnose engine and electrical repairs on power generation equipment (engine‑driven generators and automatic transfer switches)
• Perform work on power generation equipment located at customer sites, or occasional work at the local shop
• Use safe practices when operating the service truck
• Perform preventive maintenance on power generation equipment
• Perform start‑ups on new power generation equipment
• Perform warranty work on power generation equipment
• Process required paperwork and electronic submissions within deadlines
• Maintain parts inventory of the service truck
• Participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7 on‑call technician rotation
