General Technician

Major Responsibilities

• Manage all team-related activities.
• Cook up vendor coordination, assist Unit engineers, plan resources, and commission equipment through systematic testing during installations.
• Make repairs specific to each Unit’s machinery by troubleshooting and making production process-dependent decisions, and expedite parts when necessary.
• Handle, inspect, package, ship, and transport hazardous waste, and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

• Ability to support a positive, challenging, and participative work environment required.
• Coordinate and manage all machine repair and preventive maintenance efforts, and function as an asset within Team management simultaneously.
• 60% of influence is based on expertise, while the remainder is based on interpersonal abilities.
• Independent thinking is vital when machine breakdown inhibits the production process, making problem-solving decisions difficult.
• Concerning machine reliability, the GT will identify and remedy the chronic issues with machinery, while considering the elements of safety, production, and machinery health as it relates to product quality and process efficiency.
• Manage all aspects of planned and unplanned outages.
• Operate and maintain all heavy equipment on site.
• Support and work in cooperation with all operating Teams.
• Continuously pursue Technological Advancement education and teach/train others in the same.
• Seek improvement not only in their specialty field, but in all fields.
• Rotate shifts as required by the Team, Unit, and/or Company policies and procedures.
