About the role

The General Superintendent oversees all field operations on large-scale site-development projects in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all field operations on large-scale site-development projects
• Provide leadership to superintendents, foremen, and craft personnel
• Ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents and quality standards
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and owners to plan sequencing, manage resources, and resolve field issues efficiently
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and performance
• Mentor field staff
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil contracting, including supervisory experience
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license
