General Studies Imperial Valley Lecturer Pool 2026-2027
San Diego State University Imperial Valley is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 part-time lecturer pool. Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, requiring availability on short notice. The Fall term runs mid-August to late-December; the Spring term runs mid-January to mid-May. Summer teaching opportunities may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, renewable based on satisfactory evaluations and work availability.
About the Role
We welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise or experience to teach General Studies courses. Applications remain active in the pool for the academic year in which they are submitted.

Pay
Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges are:
- Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range.
Requirements
- Applicants must disclose any final administrative or judicial decision issued within the last seven years determining that the applicant committed sexual harassment (pursuant to Education Code 89521). Disclosures will be reviewed by the SDSU Center for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination.
- Finalists for the position must authorize a background check, including a criminal records check, as a condition of employment.
- The position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act, requiring compliance with CSU Executive Order 1083.
