General Special Education Teacher

About the role

The Department of Special Education at Nassau BOCES is seeking a General Special Education Teacher. The successful candidate will work with students who have learning, behavior, and social/emotional needs, and must demonstrate strong skills in differentiated instruction, data-informed instruction, and familiarity with the Next Generation Learning Standards.

Requirements

• New York State certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Preference given to candidates holding two or more of the following certifications:
  • Students with Disabilities (Birth–2)
  • Students with Disabilities (Grades 1–6)
  • Students with Disabilities (Grades 5–9)
  • Students with Disabilities (Grades 7–12)
