About the Role

Varsity Spirit, a leader in cheerleading, dance team, performing arts, and yearbook, impacts over a million athletes annually through apparel innovation, educational camps, clinics, competitions, and events. This role is part of OneBeat Dance Brands, which produces high-energy dance events including competitions and conventions under brands like Beyond the Stars, Groove, Breakout, and Reverb. Positions are seasonal and remote, with travel required from January to June.

Schedule

Thursday–Monday, seasonal tour team. Peak season runs from January to June, with mandatory weekend availability and travel.

Pay

Base pay ranges from $18.50 to $20.50 per hour, depending on the role.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary by position:

• Content and Tech Coordinator: Manage media captured by photographers and videographers; create social media content.
• Backstage: Coordinate all aspects of the backstage area (responsibilities vary by event).
• Merchandise: Sell merchandise, program booklets, and other items at the merchandise booth during events.
• Photographers: Capture event photos using provided stationary Canon DSLR cameras.
• Audio Team Member: Manage the flow and energy of the show (responsibilities vary by event).
• ScoreKeeper: Maintain performance order as instructed by the stage manager and communicate changes to the audio technician.
• Tabulator: Maintain performance order as instructed by the stage manager and communicate changes to the audio technician.
• Videographers: Record event videos using provided stationary HDR Pro Camcorders, operate a switcher with multiple inputs, and set up livestreams.
• Assist with event set-up and breakdown.
• Attend all mandatory training and team meetings.
• Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
• Adhere to additional duties assigned by the event director or designee.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work long event days (8–16 hours).
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs (event equipment, merchandise bins, staging materials).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous event or dance industry experience preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work weekends (Thursday–Monday) and travel from January–June.
• Comfortable working in loud, dynamic, and fast-paced environments.
• Flexibility and adaptability in responding to shifting event needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
