About the role
The role of General Production Technician is vital to the continued growth of Materials Sciences LLC and its service in the defense of the United States of America. This role is best served by existing skilled, detailed craftspeople that can advance in our processes from their baseline skillset.
Responsibilities

- Willingness to train finishes expertise into others as well as master new skills for the greater good of the organization.
- Modeling a disciplined safety and ergonomic work ethic when handling, applying, storing and disposing of paints, composite materials, adhesives, sealants, resins and solvents per OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Disciplined and proper application of PPE to protect self and team members.
- Stewarding company resources while minimizing waste-stream flow.
- Maintaining a superbly organized and clean work space in order to model 5S culture.
- Exhibiting a zero-defect mentality as well as a "right-the-first-time" approach.
- Extreme discipline in following Manufacturing and Inspection Procedures (MIPs) and Work Orders, coupled with a willingness to support engineering in their improvement.
- Disciplined completion of all required documentation.
- Inspecting work for defects, imperfections, foreign material (FOD) or other non-conformances, and correcting as necessary to specifications.
- Complying with established QMS (Quality Management System) procedures.
Requirements
- Must have basic math and mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- A high school diploma.
- A United States Citizen.
- Understanding of basic tools.
- Willingness to learn and embrace MSC processes.
- Highly desired but not mandatory: A two-year technical certificate that would lead to your fast and successful contribution to the MSC team.
Skills
- Ability to interpret SDS (Safety Data Sheets), material supplier specifications, and MIL-specifications.
- Ability to apply to convert raw materials into composite components and assemblies to achieve engineering requirements.
- Using basic math to calculate, weigh, mix and catalyze paints, finishes, and resins.
- Basic computer skills that can be supplemented by additional training as required.
