About the role
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine seeks to hire a General Pediatrician. This role provides direct patient care at the Pediatric Emergency Department and Observation Unit at Primary Children's Hospital's Salt Lake Campus and the Larry H. and Gayle Miller Primary Children's Hospital's Lehi Campus. Patient care includes the full range of illness and injury in children from birth to 18 years old, with a focus on chronic illness populations. The Pediatrician works collaboratively with surgical and medical consultants to develop optimal care plans and discharge strategies. Additionally, there is an expectation for academic, educational, and service work outside of clinical care, which includes opportunities for funded research, education, advocacy, and administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric Emergency Department and Observation Unit at Primary Children's Hospital's Salt Lake Campus and the Larry H. and Gayle Miller Primary Children's Hospital's Lehi Campus.
- Collaborate with surgical and medical consultants to develop optimal care plans and discharge strategies.
- Consultative assistance to clinics and outside emergency departments.
- All clinical care is documented in the electronic medical record of Intermountain Healthcare or University of Utah, with documentation finalized within 7 days of the date of service.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
